The Three Tenors - August 20, 2005

Three Tenors

The new Duluth Festival Opera presented an encore presentation of our 2005 hit concert, the concert featuring three outstanding, nationally-recognized American tenors – Daniel Holmes of Washington Opera, Marcus McConico of Baltimore Opera and David Ossenfort of New York City Opera - in a stunning program of operatic and musical theatre selections of the finest and most popular songs and arias written for the tenor voice, with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra conducted by acclaimed musical director, Markand Thakar.

Just as "The Three Tenors" original concerts with José Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti popularized opera for general audiences all over the world, we created an exciting concert event to showcase three tenor stars of the future. Highlights of the concert included the overture from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, Puccini’s most famous tenor aria, “Nessun dorma”, Verdi’s "La donna é mobile", the "Flower Song" from Carmen, arias from Tosca and L’elisir d’amore, "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" by Franz Lehar, "Granada" by Lara, "Bring Him Home" from Les Mis, "Maria" from West Side Story, and "O sole mio", among many others.
